I got this for my iphone and it has worked well. It came with a lot of different connections that are not labeled to what they might go to. So it is a shot in the dark. I tried to charge the battery in the car but it would not(by the way does not come with car charger). I already had a USB attachment for the car but the adapters that came with battery would not work. It looks like you’ll have to rely on wall charger only. It does have a lot of power. Will charge iphone at least 4 times from dead battery. Took it on vacation and it performed wonderfully on iphone. So I guess I got what I need I just wish there had been a more proffesional explanation of adapters and such and also a car charger that would work.

If you have a newer Blackberry, such as a Storm, a Bold 9700, a Tour or a new model Curve, none of the adapter tips will mate to your Blackberry’s micro-USB charging port.
They provide a mini-USB tip that works with Blackberry Pearl, Blackberry Bold 9000 and other older Blackberry models (tip labeled “Motorola, however), but not the current, smaller micro-USB. Even though Amazon clearly lists Blackberry, the manual does not.
Since they clearly advertise that this battery works with Blackberry, we’ve definitely have a problem here.
Also, the operation of the unit is far from intuitive and the instructions are poorly written and vague. There are spelling and grammar errors and the operation of the unit is “dodgy” at best. One button controls all functions. There is no dedicated on/off button. Operation depends on how long you push the one button and it seems to do its own thing. Very annoying operation. Not user friendly at all.
This is an item that really needs a case or cover for three reasons: First, the button protrudes from the unit and is very easily activated accidentally. Second, the unit has a highly polished plastic finish that fingerprints and mars easily. Lastly, the unit has small accessory parts and a cable, so there needs to be a place to keep it all together, especially when traveling which is essentially the most common use for this device.
I have yet to test battery life or capacity and will update review after more user experience. I have not rated support since I’m awaiting their response about the Blackberry adapter plug.
I have written to DB Roth Customer Support and am awaiting their resolution. If and when I get a response, I will update this review.

I keep the I-UP 5400 in my backpack, ready to go at all times. Nice to know I can be charging my iPhone at any time and at any place (even at 35,000 feet). It’s small enough to keep in my jeans pocket too, so for those heavy phone use days it’s like having an unlimited power supply always available. Best iPhone accessory I’ve ever purchased.

Nothing worse than some game inexpectantly running down your iPhone battery and hauling a dead phone around with you all day. Not anymore. Keep this in my car so I can run out and grab it and charge it on the fly. I bought two so one is always fully charged.

Though good to read reviews that mentioned the manual difficult to understand, I didn’t have a problem understanding how to use the product. It works fine, providing full charge in approximately same time as wall charger for iPhone 3GS. Unit provides a couple full charges to my iPhone 3GS with plenty of battery power to spare for a third charge. This charger will be with me on all my out of town trips in the future, especially during air travel…
